The historic centre of Siracusa in Sicily,
now a Unesco world heritage, is in the small
island of Ortigia, separated from modern
Syracuse from two bridges across a thin
stretch of sea.
Very few Hotels have the privilege of being
in the seafront of Ortigia: Algilà Ortigia
Charme Hotel is one of them; it stands on
the Mastra Rua, where historically there
were the most important aristocratic homes
of the city. The nearest airport is Catania's
Fontanarossa, which is about 60 km from
Syracuse.

All thirty rooms are furnished
differently with antique furniture, four-poster
beds and refined interior decoration which all add
to its distinctive Sicilian touch as well as Mediterranean
features such as colourful bathrooms tiles.
The Algilà Ortigia Charme Hotel offers free internet
connection. Besides the restaurant, a bar is at
guests' disposal for a coffee, a drink or an appetizer.
The charm of the past which can be found in the
restored furnishings and fittings does not disregard
the need for today’s comforts
