TOURISM IN SYRACUSE, SICILY

The province of Syracuse covers the south-eastern corner of Sicily and is at the same latitude as North Africa - just a little south of Tunis, in fact. 
The area enjoys more days of sunshine than any other in Italy. 
Even the winters are warm, with maximum temperatures averaging 20°C (68°F) in November, 16.5°C (62°F ) in December, 15°C (60°F) in January and February, and only 5-8 days of rain each months (source: ENEA - National Institute for Energy).
Spring blooms early: thousands of pink almond blossoms appear in February and the scent of orange flowers wafts through the island in March.
